Irrigating your Portuguese Garden

Free Water Sources in Portugal

  Wells in Portugal

  Boreholes in Portugal

  Natural Springs in Portugal

A big consideration when gardening in Portugal is the source of your water to irrigate your garden. In Portugal water is valuable commodity and if you don't have access to a natural water source then your older Portuguese neighbours will worry for you about the cost of keeping the garden green.

Mains water in Portugal is charged out by the cubic metre and during the height of summer your garden will be thirsty and could cost hundreds of Euros to keep it looking in tip top condition, especially if you have laid a lot to lawn.

Purchasing a property with a natural water source such as a spring, font or well is an added bonus if you enjoy gardening and wish to make your own garden of Eden or if you wish to be self-sufficient growing fruit and vegetables. Having a natural water source on your land is also a good way to keeping costs to a minimum.
