Foz de
Arelho, is a picturesque village, situated on the
Silver Coast in Portugal
with several stunning sandy beaches.
Located
only eight kilometres from
Caldas da Rainha,
Foz de Arelho was once a small fishing village though
became popular at the turn of the 20th century, for
wealthy families, as a holiday destination.
Today
Foz
de Arelho attracts visitors from all
over the world and is a laid back location. |

Bordered
to one side by the Atlantic Ocean and the other by
Óbidos Lagoon, Foz de Arelho is a haven for water sport
lovers. Those looking for a hectic nightlife should,
perhaps look elsewhere. Foz de Arelho has a sleepy,
family orientated feel to it. There are some roadside
cafes, restaurants and bars overlooking the lagoon.

While Óbidos lagoon at Foz de Arelho
provides relatively safe waters for children to paddle
in and fishermen to cast a line, across the sand bar the
Atlantic Ocean gives surfers some great swells in the
morning and evening. |
