Vets in Portugal will probably keep
longer hours than vets in the UK. There are many vets throughout
the region, most have very modern facilities and hold open
surgeries. In the more rural areas the vet may work from his home.
Not all vets speak English and this may pose a problem.
In the Tomar area I can personally
recommend the following young vet. She speaks excellent English and
very much likes dogs, breeding her own champion Boxers.

The surgery is close to Macdonalds and
it would be best to phone from there to get directions.
A general consultation will cost in
the region of 25 euros. If your dog needs medicines you will be
given a prescription which you take to the local Farmacia. |
